J. Langford Floyd: from Courtroom to Confidant
After 20 years as a District and Circuit Court Judge, Lang retired from the bench in 2016 and immediately began concentrating in ADR proceedings. As a judge, Lang was called on to make decisions to resolve disputes in the court system. During his time as a Circuit Judge, Lang handled thousands of civil jury cases, including over 200 jury trials and 750 non-jury trials. Today, Lang takes the experience he gained as a judge to help those involved in disputes to seek resolutions for themselves, rather than dealing with the time consuming and expensive process of going through a trial.

“The courts should not be where resolution of disputes begin. They should be where the disputes end after alternative methods of resolving disputes have been considered and tried.”
— Sandra Day O’Connor, U.S. Supreme Court Justice
